Facsimile of three ancient books — “Apostles”

On February 8, an extraordinary event took place at the National Reserve “Saint Sophia of Kyiv” — the presentation of facsimiles of three ancient books, the “Apostles.” This was made possible thanks to Anna Horobets Publishing, the Voznytsky Charitable Foundation, the Center for Research and Revival of Volyn, and many benefactors and scholars.

The “Khrystynopil Apostle” is a unique parchment manuscript, copied in the lands of Rus’-Ukraine in the 12th century.
The “Lviv Apostle,” or the Acts and Epistles of the Apostles by Ivan Fedorovych, is traditionally considered the oldest precisely dated book printed in Ukraine.
The “Tesluhiv Apostle” of 1594 belongs to the Ukrainianized copies of the 1525 printed Apostle by Francysk Skaryna. Due to Russia’s war against Ukraine, the original manuscript is in danger and inaccessible to the public.
